Start with one of my photos, outline it in photoshop, turn it into a solid color, scratch in some details.  Add a background, trees, sky, pool, instruments, what have you.  Some of these can be found on my Squares page in cute little 8 by 8's.  This is where you can find rectangular prints in a variety of sizes and media. Much of this work is inspired by Matisse's Cut Outs. 

But many of these go back to antiquity and the vase and sculpture work of the Greeks and Egyptians.  The form is simplified, and the color contrast impart the necessary information.
