pool

Welcome to the Pool collection: where color fields hold memory, floats signal intention, and every palm frond has an opinion. These aren’t just images—they’re coded vignettes from the mythic social swim of Palm Springs. Think Midwestern restraint meets West Coast leisure, with a touch of theatrical tension.

Guests arrive in violet rings, recline beneath cypress juries, and dive into atmospheric reckonings. The pool is physical. The pool is metaphorical. The pool is watching.

📜 Rules for Guests:

  • All lounging must be done with narrative potential

  • You may feel judged by trees—that’s intentional

  • Swimmers are advised to bring sunscreen and a backstory

  • No diving unless existentially motivated

  • All floats must support both body and character arc

Each image invites co-conspirators, not just viewers. Feel free to hover, hesitate, laugh, or lean in. Just know: the water remembers everything.

I've been refining this style for several years starting around the Covid pandemic in 2020. Most recently, in September 2024, I decided to define the style as distinctly Palm Springs": Minimal and Modern, focusing on shape and vibrant colors. I with a photo I've taken, "cutting out" subject, inspired by the later works of Henri Matisse. These figures are then placed into contemporary digital landscapes featuring desert iconography like pools, palm trees, and mountains. I enjoy experimenting with perspective, viewpoint, and interpersonal dynamics.

These minimalist, Mid-Century inspired "Photo/Graphics are titled, signed, and numbered. The 12x18 pieces are a limited edition of 50, the 8x12 works are limited to 100, and the 4x6 pieces are open edition. To explore more, "Cut Outs"
