Cut Outs
Cut Outs blends photography and digital collage to create playful, experimental figures—where abstraction meets anatomy and minimalism gets mischievous.
These pieces draw inspiration from Matisse’s late cut-outs, but with a distinctly Hastings' twist. Each begins with a photograph I’ve taken of the model. I use Photoshop to isolate the figure, then add in the “essential” details—nipples, genitals, and attitude. From there, I build a digital environment for them to inhabit.
This is where my more "experimental" and "provocative" works live—where abstraction meets anatomy and minimalism gets a little naughty.
Pornography, Schmornography. Nothing provokes thought or evokes emotion like these “pieces.”
Consider yourself warned. Or teased. Or both. Definitely NSFW. In fact, your boss is already looking over your shoulder! Ask them which one is their favorite.
