Chamomile Midday clarity, held in tension. Chamomile centers the tree in soft gold and sandlight, its lean split between surrender and resistance. The reflective surface doubles the stillness, while the muted palette evokes warmth without heat. This is not serenity—it’s choreography. A steeped moment, staged with restraint, where the tree becomes both gesture and pause. The second in a temporal series, Chamomile marks noon not as peak exposure, but as quiet decision.

Tree leans both ways now

golden hush, noon’s soft fracture.

Stillness holds its breath.

While visiting the Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul, I photographed a series of bonsai trees. The quiet geometry and shifting light throughout the day sparked the concept for this series: a minimalist meditation on time, reflection, and stillness.
