A layered homage to time, memory, and performance. Based on photographs Terry captured at Desert X 2017, this digital collage reimagines Lita Albuquerque’s hEARTH installation at Sunnylands—where sculpture, dance, and audience converged in a moment of desert ritual. At center lies the ultramarine blue figure, ear to the ground, listening. Nearby, dancers in blue with red sashes hold cone-shaped vessels, mid-gesture, while a silent audience of beige silhouettes watches from the edge of the lawn. The architecture glows in the background, grounding the scene in place and history.
This piece is both documentation and transformation—an echo of a performance now stilled, reassembled through Terry’s lens into a tableau of presence, listening, and cosmic choreography.
