Main Street is a quiet homage to the remembered heart of a small town—where rooftops blur into sky and the steeple still stands, even if the names and faces have faded. Rendered in soft layers of green, blue, and pale light, the piece evokes the feeling of passing through a place you once knew, or maybe only dreamed.

The title nods to Sinclair Lewis’s 1920 novel, set in a fictional Minnesota town, which captured both the charm and constraint of small-town life. In this work, that tension is softened into atmosphere: the grid dissolves, the details recede, and what remains is a sense of stillness, of place held gently in memory.

Part of the Midwest Memory series, Main Street reflects the emotional architecture of the past—not as it was, but as it lingers.
