Nocturne closes the series with a gesture of quiet grace. A lone tree leans toward its reflection beneath a full moon, accompanied by fence posts that fade into water like half-remembered thoughts. The gradient sky, rich in purples and blues, evokes a sense of closure without finality. Is the tree bowing, mourning, or admiring itself? The ambiguity is deliberate. This minimalist composition invites viewers to linger in the stillness, where movement is memory and silence performs.

Moon casts its question

tree bends, unsure if to bow

or weep, or reflect.

While visiting the Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul, I photographed a series of bonsai trees. The quiet geometry and shifting light throughout the day sparked the concept for this series: a minimalist meditation on time, reflection, and stillness.
