The figure stands alone on a pedestal, stylized and stripped of detail, like a monument to a question that hasn’t been answered. The sky is clear, the earth simplified, but the posture—upright, exposed, still—carries the weight of longing. This isn’t a statue of triumph. It’s a portrait of pause.

In Searching, the body becomes symbol. Rendered in solid tones, it echoes classical sculpture but without the armor of marble or myth. There’s no sword, no shield—just stance. Just stillness. The pedestal elevates the figure, but also isolates it. This is not arrival. It’s inquiry.

Placed within the Vulnerable arc, this piece feels like a moment of self-examination turned outward. The desert has receded. The cacti are gone. What remains is the distilled form of the seeker—no longer asking the land for answers, but asking the self: What am I looking for? And who am I when I stop?
