Seaside Full Moon Drum Circle is a vibrant, celebratory work from Terry Hastings’ Photo/Graphic series, capturing the energy of communal ritual under a coastal moon. Set against a glowing ocean sunset, the piece features dancers and drummers gathered around a central bonfire, their silhouettes rendered in radiant, solid colors that evoke joy, rhythm, and transformation.
Each figure began as a photograph of a live model—friends who danced, drummed, and moved in rhythm with the imagined ceremony. These images were cut out in Photoshop, recolored, and etched with key details to create stylized forms that pulse with life and intention. The scene is framed by distant islands and a vast ocean, suggesting both rootedness and expansion.
 
This stunning photo/graphic is a masterpiece created by renowned photographer Terry Hastings. Inspired by the cut outs of Henri Matisse, Terry starts with photosgraphs of his models in action, cuts them out in photoshop, turns them a solid color and scratches in a few key details.  The piece  is playful and beautiful and full of joy.
