Tossed Salad is part of Terry Hastings’ “I’m Hungry” series, a photographic rebellion that strips away fear and adds flavor to nudity. Shot in Palm Springs just after his arrival, the work blends food, flesh, and wit into a surreal composition that’s equal parts absurd and intimate.
This isn’t shock—it’s seasoning. The salad drips, the skin glows, and the grayscale backdrop turns the body into a canvas for appetite and attitude. Hastings reframes nudity not as taboo, but as texture—playful, performative, and deliciously defiant.
