The pale orb in the sky, sun or moon, hovers like a held breath. With minimalist composition and a soothing gradient of blues, the piece invites viewers to pause, reflect, and inhabit the quiet between light and shadow. While visiting the Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul, I photographed a series of bonsai trees. The quiet geometry and shifting light throughout the day sparked the concept for this series: a minimalist meditation on time, reflection, and stillness.
