An American flag drifts across the surface of a motel swimming pool, transformed by water, reflection, and memory. Vintage poolside warnings stretch above the scene: No Lifeguard on Duty. Swim at Your Own Risk. and then American Owned. Familiar phrases become something else when viewed through the lens of nostalgia. What begins as a simple poolside moment unfolds into the way a nation sees itself reflected back through its treasured myths. The floating star-shaped pool ring adds a note of humor and playfulness, inviting viewers to decide for themselves whether they are looking at a flag, a reflection, a memory, or all three at once.
