That image became the compass for this piece, guiding it toward a maximal, star‑laden sky that honors the original colors and the awe of standing beneath something ancient and immeasurable.
Where Before the Stars lingers in the quiet anticipation of dusk, Alone in the Milky Way steps fully into the spectacle. The sky opens into swirling cosmic clouds, violet and rose and ember‑lit gold, echoing the drama of the inspiration photo but expanding it into something more atmospheric, more emotional, more interior. This is not astronomy — it’s memory, wonder, and the feeling of being small in the best possible way.
The cactus anchors the scene, a solitary witness to the universe unfolding overhead. It stands in for the viewer, for the artist, for anyone who has ever looked up and felt both humbled and connected.
