Neon Swimmer transforms a glowing diver into a reflection without a source. The original neon sign — loud, literal, and built for spectacle — never appears. Only its drifting, inverted image hovers above the color bands, dissolving into water and light. The swimmer becomes a ghost of motion, a trace of something just outside the frame. By removing the object and leaving only its reflected gesture, the piece shifts from performance to perception. In Neon Swimmer, the world is understood through what glows after the fact — a memory of neon, suspended between surface and depth, where the reflection becomes more real than the sign itself.
